How To Edit Your Bill Code List In Excel

AMA (American Medical Association)

The American Medical Association (AMA) requires offices to report the number of providers using CPT® codes. The AMA made a change to their licensing for CPT codes. The AMA now requires any software which displays CPT codes to have providers pay an annual licensing fee. This annual licensing fee is $75.00 for each full-time equivalent provider at your practice (self-reported) using CPT codes.

Any version of Crystal PM after version 5.5 will require the office to select the number of providers using CPT codes. Once selected, the office has 14 days to make the annual payment. Payment can take up to 48 hours to process. Once completed, you will need to click the "Refresh" button under the Admin - Billing - AMA tab to update the paid status and the warning will be removed.

If you do not pay the AMA fee during the 14 day warning, all CPT codes will be removed from your Crystal PM Software. It will also prohibit CPT codes from being added manually. The only way to restore them is to pay the fee, wait for payment to be processed and click the "Refresh" button to update your paid status to paid.
